Matt just called me because there was a doctor from Hillcrest on the radio talking about the swine flu. At the same time I just happened to be reading Katy's blog that mentioned the swine flu. I have realized everyone has blogged somewhat about it, so I figure I am going to throw my two cents in.
I think it is HORRIBLE that it is out there and so many are ill from it and some dying. But there are lots of factors and details people aren't aware of. I get scared of this in the sense that Matt is in the health care profession, he could bring it home, and if it becomes an epidemic I won't see my husband for a long time. But I am always scared that Matt could bring home a disease or something. But we take the necessary precautions and that is what you have to do for the swine flu. Of course I am not going near Mexico and I am washing my hands a little extra.
I think the only thing you can do is wash your hands and don't stick your finger in other people's noses.

Baby Boy Blanchard
Ahh! I love that we are having a boy. Kinda relieves some pressure of making sure we are able to pass on the Blanchard name, cause WE ARE!
He is a mover. Everytime she moved the thingy he would kick it, like he was playing with it. We all kept laughing because he wouldn't stop shaking his hands, moving his legs, and doing little dances during the ultrasound. I have decided that my doctor needs to have posters on her ceiling for when she is doing the measurement portion of the ultrasound.
We have decided on Christian Lenard for his name. My mom's name is Christina and Matt's brother's name is Christopher and Matt's grandfather's name is Lenard, so BAM!!! Christian Lenard.
I went shopping today for onsies because we obviously have no clothes or anything. Well Target happens to have a bunch of sports bedroom stuff in the dollar section so I got one of everything. I went to Hobby Lobby and found some cute sports flannel fabric for burp cloths and receiving blankets.
I am just rambling. Can you tell I am excited?
Our scanner won't work with our computer so I took pics of the pics of the baby.
You can see it's a boy (over in the left corner)!

Migraines
Can I just say I HATE migraines? Cause I do.
I have always had migraines with aura and it sux. I think I get more frustrated with my eyes then the actual head pain. During pregnancy they are worse and a little more often. With Adelaide I took no pills, no Tylenol, nothing. It was horrible, but Matt had energy so he waited on me until the pain went away. With this one I have even more migraines and have taken Tylenol, but I don't want to take anything more because I am still a little paranoid.
Anyways, yesterday I had my first REALLY bad one with this pregnancy. I had 6 hours of extreme pain and of course the before and after effects. I feel so bad for Adelaide because mommy went on her own little vacation and just checked out from mommyland. She was an angel though. She napped long, ate popcorn and watched 2 movies along with playing quietly, we made a game out of whispering. I am just blessed to have such a sweet daughter who understands and is compassionate to mommy's bo-bo.
So anyways, I am ready for this baby and these migraines to be done.

It's A Boy???
I took the at home gender test this morning and it said BOY! Of course I am not 100% convinced, I won't be until Monday when we go in for our ultrasound.
Matt had a dream about it though... He dreamt that I took the test and it was a fizzy dark green color and that I came out all excited telling him it was a boy. Here's the thing, he was right and there was no way for him to know any of that. Hmm???

Tricycle
Adelaide was such a good girl about giving up the binky we decided she deserved a reward, a tricycle. We bought her a cute, gender neutral one yesterday and Matt put it together when he got home. We also got her some cute Sesame Street knee and elbow pads along with a helmet. I tried all day to get her to wear the helmet and she wouldn't go near it, as soon as I told her she had to wear it to get on her bike she put it on without a fuss. The tricycle is slightly to tall but she can still reach the pedals, all together she is managing to play with it just fine. I know she will go throw a growth spurt soon, so I am not worried. Now we just have to teach her to use the pedals.
So, I still don't like Providence but we are going to make things work for the next few months at least. Matt is just going to sign up for on-call in 4 hour shifts, 3 days a month, M-F. So he will just work after he gets off of Hillcrest. Ahhh!!! One day he will have a normal schedule.

I'm Sorry
Yesterday I was tagged and I wrote that one of the things I wish I could do was say I'm sorry.
For a few years now I have wanted to say I am sorry to my ex Jeramy. We met my senior year of high school and dated for 4 years. We had our ups and downs as any couple does and we were young so we both did some immature and stupid things. He eventually moved away for college and we ended up drifting apart. There was nothing wrong with either of us, we were great just not "perfect."
Last I heard about him he had went from valedictorian of his class, quarterback, pitcher of the baseball team to college drop out. He was also not making the best decisions, but he was having A LOT of fun.
I ran into his step-mom at HEB. We of course chit chatted and I found out that Jeramy has changed back to being the good guy I loved (and will always). I was so relieved to hear this.
I ended up asking her to tell him the one thing I thought I would never be able to, that "I'm sorry." I know she will.
So I guess now I can take saying "I'm sorry" off my list.

Providence SUCKS!
Matt works at Providence for his second job on the weekends and came home last night with upsetting news. They are requiring nearly all of there ICU nurses to sign up for an "on-call" day, because they are short on staff. That means that Matt will only have one day off a month, because it is extremely unlikely that he will not be called in.
So what do we do?
He works 64+ hours a week (excluding his one weekend off). He also has another job that he is actually on-call for 11 days a month. He is already having health issues from working so much. Adelaide has started having Daddy issues. She will wake up screaming for him during naps and at night. Not to mention we are about to have baby #2 in a few months.
I wish I could get a job, but I wouldn't even make 1/3 of what he makes an hour (which is why he works so much).
Ahhh!!!

Progress
It is not finished yet, but...
I have one more curtain to sew, cause I ran out of thread.
The quilt is just about done. I am doing these little tie things to hold it together and have already broke 3 needles.
I have to order some pics to put in these really cute frames I bought.
And of course we have to decide on bedroom furniture. We do know we want white though.

Bye-bye Binky
We have decided it is time to take away the binky, no more excuses. We are afraid it will hurt her teeth and she talks so much more and better without it in her mouth.
At 8:55, she hurt herself and wanted her binky to comfort her, she survived without it though.
We had a nice little tantrum for it at 9:30, but she quickly finished and went on with playing.
At 12 she asked for it, was told no and she didn't fight about it or anything.
Nap time was HORRIBLE!!! She was screaming bloody murder for it. The only reason she fell asleep was because she exhausted herself crying. She actually woke up still crying for her binky.
She went through 3 more times of asking for it without a tantrum.
Bedtime was better than nap time, but still not fun. She eventually went to sleep though. She woke up this morning hugging, kissing, and talking up a storm.
I was so scared of this day and really it was so much better than I ever thought it was going to be (except nap time).
Anyways, we survived Day 1.

Easter Weekend
Friday was the Easter Egg Hunt play date. We had a lot of fun and of course loved seeing the mommies. Adelaide seemed to have more fun this year, because she was not crawling around on the ground trying to grab them. Stephanie got some really cute pics of Addie and Joshua lovin on each other.
Saturday night, Matt got off on time so we decided to decorate eggs. It was Adelaide's first time and she loved it. I can't wait to do it again next year.
On Easter Sunday, we woke Adelaide up and she got to see her basket while Daddy was here. She was a very good girl and shared her candy and actually ate candy for breakfast. We went to Moody to see my grandparents and get our eat on. They did an egg hunt for the kiddos, she got lots more candy, and made out with $1.50 from finding some money eggs (college fund). My highlight of Easter Sunday was that the Burger King in McGregor was open. Oh how I love the Whopper!!! When we got home it was beautiful outside, so we cleaned the inside of the car, which was much needed.
It really was a nice Easter weekend for the Blanchards.

Ouch!
Monday night Adelaide burned her finger on the oven rack while I was trading out cupcakes. Sunday night I steamed burned my fingers. Then within 5 minutes of that Matt cut his finger while sawing braches.
OUCH!!!

Redecorating
Since we are welcoming a new bundle of joy into our lives, Adelaide will have to give up her bed (convertible crib). Therefor I have decided that since she is getting a big girl bed she needs to have a big girl room. I really should emphasize the word girl. When I was pregnant with Adelaide I was anti pink and anti girly. Her room is a nursery rhyme theme with green, blue, yellow, purple.
I want her room to have lots of girly stuff now. I'm thinking pink, yellow, and purple with white furniture and such.
So....
I am making her a quilt from her baby clothes, just have to sew on the back and trim.
I am also making her pillow(s) out her baby clothes to match the quilt.
I am shadow boxing a couple of dresses she wore as a little baby.
I am sewing her some pink curtains.
I have her name in wooden letters, they are purple and green now. I plan on painting them purple, pink, and yellow and hanging them with ribbon in the same colors.
I have a pink, antique looking wall sign.
But that is it. I need more ideas, more inspiration...
Hmmm???

Matt's Weekend Off
*Sigh* That's what I did this weekend, but a good one.
The Hillcrest move is finally done. Which means I have the car back :D No more being in the middle of shopping and getting a call about running Matt over to the other hospital. Or not being able to take the car because Matt has to run back and forth between hospitals. And of course no more "I'll be home late" calls. We went to lunch this morning and he told me that he has no idea what to do anymore. For the last year nearly, he has been getting things ready for the Stroke Survey and then the move. Now he is lost with nothing to do.
Matt hasn't been off since the last weekend of Feb. so it was really nice to have him home. On Saturday we got to do a few little odds and ends; shopping, installing new lights, mowing the lawn, etc...
Sunday Matt decided to put up the tent for Addie to play in, if it wasn't so windy it would have been a lot more fun. After having the movie "The Bucket List" in our house for about 3 months, we finally got to watch it. BTW, don't watch that movie when you are already on a pregnancy emotional roller coaster. I balled, not teared up or cried a little, I was balling my eyes out.
It was just nice to have Matt home for a day and a half. Now I have to wait til Memorial Day weekend for him to have off. That weekend happens to be when is mom and brother's family are coming to visit.
And of course my belly gets bigger everyday.
Ok enough rambling.
