1+4=5+4=9 OR 01/05/09

January 5th, 2009 will be the second biggest day of my life because it is the day I am getting married. Matt and I went yesterday and got our marriage license and I called today and made an appointment to get married on Monday at 10am.
I will get in to the why details later. Right now I need to get ready and go shopping for my ring and our bands, which is the exciting part of all this.

A Germy Christmas

Germs! That is the key word to our Christmas vacation.
We got to Kansas on Monday and had a great first 2 days. Then came Christmas Eve morning and Adelaide throwing up for the first time ever. We think she had a bad rection to the milk she drank, it was skim and she drinks whole normally. So after an hour she was fine and back to playing. Then over late Christmas Eve and Christmas day, Matt's 2 nephews were sick. The day after Christmas Matt, his brother, and sister-in-law were all sick. Then the next day was his mom and step-dad's turn to be sick. Some how or another I am the only one to not get sick, but I did get mine because I started having morning sickness on Thursday and it hasn't left. I can not tell you how much Lysol, kleenex, and toilet paper we went through.
I am just so unbelievably thankful to be home.

Re-released: When life hands you lemons, make lemonade.

When does life stop handing you lemons? I've been making lemonade and love it, but really?
So, I am late this month. By late I mean 3 postive pregnancy tests. Which has made me realize you should hide condoms all throughout your house; just in case you have a few margaritas, come home to a good looking man, and your daughter is sleeping in your bedroom (where they are hiding in the "special" drawer (I know TMI, oh well)).
If Matt and I were already married, we would both be extremely excited. But because we are not it really adds stress to our lives, such as no insurance and our families reaction (which he doesn't care about but I do).
Please don't get me wrong this is an exciting thing for us. It's just that we always seem to get to the peak of the mountain and come to find out there is another peak even further up and so on.
Let's get back to lemonade. I think the lemonade aspect of it all is pretty obvious, a cute little bundle of love. I can't wait to find out what we are having, feel the baby kick, and make Adelaide a big sister.
Right now we just need a lot of the lemonade and less lemons.

Santa this is Addie. Addie this is Santa.

We went to see Santa tonight and it went as expected. As we waited in line she looked at Santa and smiled. The moment we walked up to Santa, it was like trying to put a cat in a bath. Matt, Adelaide, and I ended up sitting with Santa for the picture.
When we got home we decided to take some family pics, because we had procrastinated on booking a photo session. It was a lot of fun though.

I had got on my knees to do Adelaide's hair when I discovered the ground was wet. That is why I have wet spots on my knees.

Daddy told Addie to say cheese and this is what he got. I LOVE it!!!

She said "aahhh," we said "aahhh."

Emma and Elmo's Party

Today Adelaide and I went down to Temple for Emma's birthday party. Of course we both had a great time. We followed Stephanie down there and passed some guy driving a truck with half a house on it. I say driving, but I really should say swerving. Her party was at Mazzio's and had lots of cute Elmo decorations. Katy even did the cutest cupcakes of Elmo, she is so crafty (that's right Katy, you ROCK!). All the kiddo's played in the arcade, ate pizza, cupcakes, and ran around like crazy. Like I said it was a great time, well maybe not for Stephanie who got Coke spilled on her by Joshua ;)

Happy Birthday Gabriel

We went to Gabriel's birthday party tonight and by we I mean Matt too. His birthday party was at the Jumping Party and super hero themed. Matt had never been there with Adelaide so it was a pure joy to watch them play together. At first he said it wasn't his scene, so he tried to not go. He even said he would drop me off and go back to work. Of course he soon realized I was a little disappointed and decided he would reluctantly go. He was there not even five minutes and had the time of his life. I was so glad that we all got to be there to celebrate Gabriel's birthday.

Say Cheese!

I got a new digital camera today, YAY! We have had this huge, expensive one that was just too awkard to carry around for random pics, but it was great otherwise (for the most part). Well during the summer I was taking pictures of Addie (of course) and the button came off. We have been needing to send it in to get fixed, but it is going to cost atleast $171. We then decided to just buy a little camera for me to take aroundin my purse, but never got around to it. Last week Target had a Polaroid 10 megapixel camera on sale for $88, it was $129. Well they didn't have it in stock so I got a raincheck and since then I have been waiting and waiting and waiting, not anymore. I got my big pimping camera today, YAY!!!
I bought batteries for it and wanted to use it today at the Santa playdate but it wasn't set up to hold enough pics, only two. But now I have some GB's and am ready for action.
So get ready to say cheese.

This is the first pic I took with my new camera :D

What's a Lindsey?

I guess I should have made myself a little clearer, sorry guys. Lindsey is a friend of mine, well was I quess.
The short story is she got jealous of a friendship of mine that I had since high school and she started acting immature about it; not even high school immature, more like jr. high immature.
We had borrowed a fridge from her parents and on Sunday we brought it back. (this is of course the nice, drama free version) Bringing back the fridge was closure for the friendship. I wish it wasn't at times, as in I wish I was immature enough to tell her she is an immature rich brat. But I am not. I also wishit wasn't because she was a good friend and I hate the fact that I have lost that friendship.

Good-bye to you

Last week our family said a couple of sad goodbyes.
On Thursday we took Fred and Jake to Allison's house. She had found them both wonderful homes in under 24 hours of me sending her pics of the cuties. Fred is with some guy, don't know much more. Our little Jake is with a female med-school student. I know they are both in good homes and will have wonderful lives. I wish we could have kept them, but it is just not the right time in our lives for animals.

Then came our good-bye on Sunday, Lindsey. I don't know if I am happy about this one or sad. I keep starting to write about this and then get pissed off and frustrated. So all I can say is that it is done and over with.

10 Days To Go

In the begining of the year, when everyone was making their new years resolutions I watched a segment on one of the morning shows about habits. They said it takes 11 continuous days to make or break a habit. I am on day 1 of my new habit, running/jogging/walking. Because of money I have had to put a hold on doing Stroller Strides, which breaks my heart. I still need to lose wieght and definitly need to be healthy, so I am trying to do it on my own. Today I went for a 30 minute walk/jog and when I got home I jumped rope and did suicides (thinking of Julie Brewer the whole time of course). I am hoping to do the same thing tomorrow and for the next 10 days. If I can do this then maybe I can start a few other "habits" I would like, they are small but they would mean the world to me.

Good Morning Floor

Matt and I were getting ready this morning when I begin to hear Adelaide yelling/screaming. Her yelling is nothing new, she always wakes up, plays, and then yells for mommy and daddy. This morning however she was a little louder than usual, but I didn't think anything of it.
I open the door to her room and like a bolt of lightening I realized her morning was a little different today. I figure it went like this:
Opened her eyes..... Loved on her blankie.... Played around..... Held onto the side of her crib..... BAM!!!!! Good Morning Floor. See when I opened Adelaide's door she was not in her crib, she was screaming standing in front of her door because she had fallen out of her crib.
So after dropping Daddy off at work, Mommy proceded to change her crib into a "transitional bed." Her crib converts into a toddler bed, it isn't really that cute, but it is a lot cheaper then buying a new bed right now.
So now my sweet little baby is a big girl, sleeping in a big girl bed. (Actually she is a terror I am trying to make sleep in her big girl bed but won't, instead she keeps getting up and playing or screaming.....)
Why do they have to grow up so fast?

Excuse the photos, they were taken with my cell phone and suck.

Here comes the bride all dressed in . . . . . well not white.

Hobby Lobby is having the best sale I could imagine right now, 50% off all wedding stuff. YAY! My Grammy and I went shopping today and I am super duper excited about working on wedding stuff. I got my aisle runned, which I need to paint our monogram on. I also got my veil :D I need to work on pimping it out. My Grammy bought our toasting glasses, which I need to research how to write on. There is just so much to do now.
We have one little snag in all this wedding stuff though. Our sweet little puppy chewed on my laptop charger so now it doesn't work. It just happens to have EVERYTHING for the wedding on it. Oh and it also the only computer that will work with the printer. Now I can't print out the rest of the save the dates I need mailed out, print out my monogram, I can't do anything.
Anyways, back to walking around with my veil on.

Ouch!

It's been a painful last 24 hours for our family. Last night we went to Reicher's Homecoming game because my little sister is on the drill team. Adelaide at one point decided to throw her head forward and back, right into mommy's mouth. I quickly handed her over to Matt and found out I had a busted lip. OUCH #1
Today we went to my Grandma's house to cut wood for our fireplace. As soon as we show up Jake gets out of the car and Adelaide goes running after him right into a fire ant hill. At this point her right arm and hand are covered with little bites. OUCH #2
Matt takes a break after sawing down a tree. At some point he reaches up and rubs his face with his hand. Some how or another he ends up getting something in his eye and we believe cut his lense slightly. OUCH #3
After we get home this afternoon I was sitting on the couch and Adelaide was standing in front of me. She turns away from me, trips, and smacks her face on the coffee table. We both ended up with blood on us, of course on my favorite T-shirt; I am just grateful she is ok. OUCH #4
So let's all hope that tomorrow is a lot better and a lot less painful.

We need to talk . . .

"We need to talk but I have a meeting right now. Give me 2 hours." That was a text message I got from Matt. Could there possibly be a worse 4 word sentence? I am really trying to think of one but I can't. I hate when people say that, because the outcome is always bad. Seriously, think of a time when someone said that to you, was the outcome good? Probably not.
Now the "we need to talk" part isn't even the worst part of that text, it's the "give me 2 hours." You can't even begin to imagine the things that are gong through my mind right now and will be until I talk to him. I am trying to think what I could have done wrong or what could he have done wrong.
So of course this is stressing me out. When ever I get stressed, I clean and let me just say my house is sparkling. I guess I should be grateful he is putting me in a panic, because I am getting things done that I have been putting off.
The only thing that is keeping me somewhat sane is the thought that I am going out with the girls tonight to meet up with Jack, Jim, and Johnny. So whatever it is we need to talk about, atleast I will have alcohol to make it all better.
Ok so back to stressing and cleaning.

Happy Halloween

I have come to realize Halloween is so much better when you have a lil one.
Last year was Adelaide's first Halloween. Because she was so young we dressed her up as a Tootsie Roll and spent the night at home passing out candy.
This year was a whole different story.....
She was dressed as a patty-cake baker, which she managed to spill red kool-aid all over her. She seemed to enjoy having all her friends over for a Halloween party, even though she slept horrible the night before and was a little cranky.
When Matt got off work we went to the Cameron Park Zoo Boo. FUN!!! I think Adelaide really surprised Daddy with how well she behaved. She stayed in the stroller for the walking parts and held her basket when she walked up to get candy. Like Rachel said, she was amazed that people were putting candy in her basket. The best part of the Zoo Boo was the '"Rock n' Roll Herpetarium." The second we walked in and she heard the music she was jammin out. She got to dance with a Mummy, which was the funniest sight; I wish I had a video recorder for it. She also got to play with Daddy at the zoo park, I think it was his highlight. She went down the big slide for the first time since Daddy was there to help her up and I was there to catch her. i never knew how fast that slide is.
Since she passed out in the car I thought it was the end of our day, but I was wrong. We got home and played in the front yard with the pumpkins, skeleton hands, and spider webs. Our neighbors even came over to trick or treat.
Seeing her face light up with smiles made this Halloween better than anyone I ever had growing up, no matter how much candy I got.

New Member to the Blanchard Family???

Today started like any other Monday. I got up, took Matt to work, went to Stroller Strides, put the baby in the stroller, and met up with Laurie and Judith. We decided to do the small hill since the Boot Camp people were there doing there thing. We were walking around the circle when Laurie and I noticed 3 puppies walking toward us; of course we yelled at Judith to look and all hurried to them. As we got closer all I can say is that it was love at first sight. Two of the puppies stopped at a safe distance, while the other ran straight to me, yes that’s right ME! I grabbed him up and fell instantly in love. We had a horrible time picking up the other two. They tried hiding in some trees, but we ended up out smarting them. Laurie took one of the boys and the girl to her friend’s house. I on the other hand took my little man home with me.
But now the fun part starts……
I called Matt to tell him that I brought home a puppy and he wasn’t to happy with me.
Adelaide loves him though. She has been running after him and him after her. He has already had 4 bowls of food and who knows how much water. If he is not eating, he is sleeping. I made him a bed for the moment out of a diaper box and some old sheets, he likes to chew on it.
Matt seems to have warmed up to him since he has been home to see him. I am still waiting for he and I to have “the talk.”

Kristie's Baby Shower

Yesterday Katy and I threw a baby shower for Kristie. As hoped for, it was a lot of fun. This was the first one I have thrown and will not be the last. I have the best group of friends, because everyone helped set up the food. I have to give special thanks to Ashley who put together the baby fruit carriage, while I wrapped Kristie's car seat (a gift from a group of us mommies). Stephanie and I made a big pimpin diaper cake. We played a game with ice, plastic babies, and watering breaking :) and a quiz game Katy came up with. I was happy to find that the kids loved the "pin the paci on the duckie" game.
I was terrified that the party would resemble Adelaide's birthday party; screaming, crying, running around like a chicken with my head cut off, panicing, and that by the time it is over I don't even rememeber it starting. Everything went really well though. I think I can breath when I have the Halloween party and for Rachel S' baby shower.
And let's not forget that Katy is the best for taking pics.

Everybody was blogging baby... Do, do, do, do, do, do, do.

Ok, so I was thinking of the kung-fu fighting song when I was naming this blog. So get it stuck in your head too.
Katy said I should start blogging since it is the cool thing to do and since I am pretty cool I am going to try it out.
I am kind of excited about this whole blogging thing. Now I just have to wonder what to blog about!?!
